The City Council is accepting applications through Dec. 15 from residents who want to serve on the Board of Adjustment/Design Review Board.
Two regular term appointments will be made as well as an alternate appointment for a two-year term that ends Feb. 1, 2001.
Board members are paid $120 per month for a time commitment of about 10 hours per week. Regular meetings begin at 6 p.m. on Thursdays.
The five-member board considers requests for coastal development permits and requests to vary from the standard zoning code.
Skills that may be helpful for the position include the ability to conceptualize architectural plans and experience in building trades, historic preservation, landscaping, planning or real estate.
Interviews by the City Council are scheduled for 6 p.m. Jan. 4 at its regular meeting in council chambers, 505 Forest Ave.
Council members request that interested residents attend two board meetings before the interviews.
