Gallegly Challenger to Hold Kickoff Rally
Ventura attorney Michael Case’s campaign for Congress will hold a kickoff rally at Ventura’s Mission Park on Saturday at 10 a.m.
Case, a Democrat, is challenging veteran Rep. Elton Gallegly (R-Simi Valley) for the 23rd District seat. The general election is a year from November.
The candidate will make a speech and meet the public, organizers said.
“This is a chance for potential voters to get involved,” Case said.
A number of local elected officials will attend, including Oxnard Mayor Manuel Lopez, Ventura Mayor Jim Friedman, county Supervisor Susan Lacey, Ventura council members Sandy Smith and Donna DePaola, Assembly candidate Jon Sharkey and county supervisorial candidate Steve Bennett.
The 23rd District includes all of Ventura County except for most of Thousand Oaks.
