In your Sept. 30 story on the appointment of Deborah Borda as executive director of the Los Angeles Philarmonic, it wasn’t necessary to go to Seattle to find an example of another major orchestra with a woman chief executive. Ruth Eliel is doing a brilliant job a bit closer to home as executive director of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra.
