SAN CLEMENTE
The City Council has requested more than $125,000 in additional funding from the Orange County Public Library System to hire new personnel, buy more books and study the possibility of expanding the library’s facility.
City officials said the additional funds will enable them to expand the library staff, adding a children’s services specialist as well as returning the service level to where it was before budget restrictions in 1994.
The money would also allow the library to complete renovations and study expansion possibilities for the city’s projected build-out and population increase to 65,000.
