Glendale Man Dies in 2-Vehicle Crash
The driver of a sport utility vehicle died Tuesday morning after he steered into oncoming traffic and collided with a postal truck carrying several tons of mail.
The accident occurred at 2:25 a.m. on San Fernando Road under the Golden State Freeway overpass.
James Cleaver, 49, of Glendale, drove his 1989 Jeep into the wrong lane and slammed head-on into the postal delivery truck. The postal truck was making a delivery to Burbank Airport, said Sgt. Mike Keeffe of the Burbank Police Department.
Cleaver, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene, authorities said. Postal truck driver Steven Le was not injured.
Police said they are investigating the accident.
