Alumni Group Presents Achievement Award
The Cal Lutheran University Alumni Assn. honored Christina Iverson Myren, a member of the class of 1968, with a Career Achievement Award. Myren received her master’s degree in elementary education from Cal State Northridge in 1971. She has been a part-time instructor at Cal Lutheran, Pepperdine University and CSUN as well as a part-time mentor-teacher with the Conejo Valley Unified School District.
Focus on the Masters Receives Grants
Focus on the Masters, a nonprofit educational program documenting contemporary artists who live in Ventura County, announced that it has received grants totaling $9,000 from several organizations.
Jordan and Sandra Laby and the San Buenaventura Foundation awarded $3,000 to support the children’s educational outreach program “Learning to See.”
The Gould Family Foundation awarded $3,000 to support the initial stages of the FOTM web site https://www.FocusOnTheMasters.com, which will soon be in operation.
The Haas Automation Charitable Fund, administered by the Ventura County Community Foundation, awarded $2,000 for new computer equipment.
Procter & Gamble and the Julius Gius Memorial Foundation each awarded $500 for general assistance.
