Since When Is Bear Cruelty Entertainment?
Talk about “Spectacles!” (“Bout Lacks Bear Necessity: A Willing Participant,” Oct. 19). I thought that we were about to enter the 21st century, but your article on bear wrestling proves that we are about as unenlightened as the people who threw Christians to the lions.
This is overt animal cruelty and exploitation. Is this the best you can do reporting on entertainment? Too bad the bear didn’t bite [the wrestler’s] head off . . . judging by your standards, that too would be entertainment.
