Autobytel Names Chief Technology Officer
David S. Grant has been named chief technology officer at Autobytel.com Inc., the Irvine-based online auto referral service. He had been chief technology officer at SuperDrugStore.com. Before that, he was senior vice president, enterprise architecture at Countrywide Home Loans Inc.
* Rebecca Falletta has joined Gladstone International, an Irvine public relations firm, as an account executive. She was formerly a marketing manager at Koll Resorts International and worked at ZyXEL Communications.
* Lorna Metzger has joined the marketing department at House of Imports Mercedes-Benz, Buena Park. She is a member of the department that handles auto sales with leads generated from Internet and corporate referrals.
* Jim Schaeffer has been named senior vice president of marketing for Wyle Electronics in Irvine. Schaeffer spent the last four years with Avnet, most recently as vice president of supplier business management. Before that, he worked in sales management with Philips Semiconductor and in various positions with Burroughs-Unisys.
* Brian Truesdale is the new vice president, worldwide sales for TDK Semiconductor Inc. in Tustin. He had been director. Truesdale joined TDK in 1989 from Hughes Electronics.
* James R. Quandt has been appointed chief operating officer of Heidrick & Struggles International’s LeadersOnline, an Internet-based online recruiting program. He was formerly chief operating officer of Korn/Ferry International’s Futurestep. Quandt joined Korn/Ferry in 1998 and became managing director of its Irvine/Orange County region. Before that, he was president, chief executive and vice chairman of National Telephone & Communications Inc., and chairman of Bridge Information Systems. Before that, he was president of Standard & Poor’s Financial Information Services, a division of McGraw-Hill Inc., and held senior management positions with Security Pacific Bank.
* James W. Obermayer has joined the board of directors of the Southern California chapter of the Business Marketing Assn. He will be vice president, programs for 2000. Obermayer is president of Sales Leakage Consulting in Villa Park and co-author of “Managing Sales Leads: How to Turn Every Prospect Into a Customer.”
