School-to-Career Panel Names Leaders
Two community leaders have been appointed co-chairmen of the Ventura County school-to-career executive committee.
Barbara Thorpe and Victor Martinez will replace Gene Hansmeier and JoLynn Feinstein, who both served a one-year term.
Thorpe and Martinez will work with staff to prepare agendas, outline project goals and help organize special events such as the Business Outreach Conference.
Thorpe is associate academic vice president of Cal State University Channel Islands. Martinez is administrator of the sheet metal workers joint apprenticeship committee for Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and Ventura counties.
The Ventura County School-to-Career Network coordinates partnerships among parents, students, educators and businesses.
