Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst, who has inked a deal to direct a film for Warner Bros., is also directing the video for the new Korn single “Falling Away From Me.” Durst was so intent on meeting the deadline for the video, which is scheduled to premiere Friday, that Limp Bizkit postponed a Dallas date on the Family Values concert tour last week. . . .
Dru Hill’s Sisqo is producing the bulk of the debut album from Mel B. (a.k.a. Scary Spice). The singer joined him in L.A. recently to start putting vocals on the tracks he’d crafted. Sisqo’s own solo debut is due Nov. 30, and he’s also produced tracks for singer Mya’s second album. . . .
Tracy Chapman is finishing sessions for the follow-up to her 1998 career-resurrecting “New Beginning,” which sold nearly 3.5 million in the U.S. She’s co-producing with David Kershenbaum, who produced her acclaimed 1988 debut. The new one, tentatively titled “Telling Stories,” is due in early 2000. . . .
Eagle-Eye Cherry is starting work in a New York studio on the follow-up to his debut, which featured the big radio hit “Save Tonight.” Release is projected for March or April. . . .
Wrestling sensation Stone Cold Steve Austin has tag-teamed with German band H-BlockX, which has recorded his new theme song, “Oh Hell Yeah,” for Vol. 4 of the World Wrestling Federation’s “The Music” series of albums. Don’t worry--Austin doesn’t sing on it, but clips of his greatest holds and slams will be featured in a video being assembled for the song. . . .
Singer Anastacia, a finalist on MTV’s “Star Search”-type show “The Cut,” is readying a debut album for Epic, with Ric Wake--who’s worked with Celine Dion and Mariah Carey--among the producers.
