Santa Barbara 42, Glendale 35--Chad Heydorff caught 14 passes for 173 yards and a touchdown to become Glendale’s career reception leader in a game at Santa Barbara.
Heydorff has 104 receptions, surpassing Rocky Palamara’s 98 catches in 1986-87.
Paul Smith had six catches for 123 yards for Glendale (3-4, 1-3).
Mike Frost of Glendale completed 24 of 48 passes for 318 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
Jamel Applewhite had 101 yards in 15 carries for Glendale, including a pair of two-yard touchdown runs in the first half. Darrel Furutani had 63 yards in 10 carries and scored on a 20-yard run late in the first quarter.
Russell McCarthy completed 21 of 34 passes for 382 yards with three touchdowns and one interception for Santa Barbara (3-4, 2-2), including scoring strikes of seven and eight yards to Justin Seely and a 48 yards to Ruben Gomez.
Bret Van Pelt rushed for 147 yards and three touchdowns for Santa Barbara.
Frost’s 13-yard touchdown run cut Santa Barbara’s lead to 42-35 with 2:04 to play.
Torlando Bolden recovered the ensuing on-side kick to preserve the victory.
Jason Stone caught five passes for 130 yards and Gomez had seven receptions for 129 yards for Santa Barbara.
