Chiefs Rison, Johnson Arrested
Two members of the Kansas City Chiefs were arrested in separate incidents Friday night and early Saturday, police in Kansas City, Mo., said.
Wide receiver Andre Rison was one of six people arrested about 2 a.m. Saturday for fighting outside a Kansas City nightspot, said Sgt. Floyd Mitchell, a Kansas City police spokesman. Hours earlier, reserve tight end Lonnie Johnson was arrested for assault involving a female police officer posing as a prostitute.
Both players were released on bail.
Chief spokesman Bob Moore said he had no information about Rison’s arrest and that it would be a personal matter, not a team matter.
“We don’t talk about these issues,” Moore said. “Let the legal system run its course.”
Johnson was arrested just after 8 p.m. Friday in an area where undercover officers were operating a prostitution sting. Johnson stopped his car and began talking with an officer posed as a prostitute.
Mitchell said Johnson reached over, allegedly grabbed the officer and was arrested for assault.
