Reservations Added for Museums in Italy
Illinois-based Select Italy, which last year began selling advance passes to historic churches in Venice and Verona, Italy, this month added 15 more sites in Rome and Florence.
Among the seven sites in the Rome area are the Borghese Gallery (with works by Bernini, Rubens and others) and Ostia Antica (ruins of Rome’s ancient port, 15 miles west of the city). Reservations cost $15; you pay a $7 to $9 entry fee on arrival.
In Florence, you can reserve and buy the tickets in advance, avoiding a wait in line, for $11 to $19, depending on the site. Added sites include the Galleria dell’Accademia, considered the city’s finest art collection, and the Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens. Select Italy also sells reservations for $15 to view Leonardo da Vinci’s “Last Supper” in Milan; the $9 entry is paid onsite.
Depending on the site, reservations can be made two to four months in advance. Call (847) 853- 1661 or reserve online at https:// www.selectitaly.com.
