ANAHEIM
Two former employees of the Anaheim Municipal Employees Assn. have been charged by a federal grand jury in Santa Ana with federal income tax evasion.
Gina Beitler, 37, and Jennifer Beitler, 27, were indicted March 29 on charges of conspiring to defraud the Internal Revenue Service. According to the indictment, Gina Beitler received more than $300,000 from 1992 to 1994 but reported only $65,498 on her federal income tax returns.
The indictment accused Gina Beitler of changing AMEA payroll documents and writing her payroll checks to Jennifer Beitler, who cashed the checks, gave the money to Gina and doctored AMEA tax returns.
