LAKE FOREST
The last 38 acres of unincorporated land in the Foothill Ranch commercial district could become part of the city today, barring an unforeseen protest from property owners.
The city applied to the county last year for permission to annex the 38-acre area comprising the Foothill Ranch Marketplace and the residential communities of Portola Hills and Foothill Ranch.
The city plans to annex the residential areas after a May 2 protest hearing. The council will meet at 7 p.m. at Lake Forest City Hall, 23161 Lake Center Drive.
