County Supervisors
I have followed The Times’ reporting of the fight between the Ventura County Board of Supervisors and Community Memorial Hospital over the pot of money from the tobacco settlement.
Beyond the issue of paying millions of dollars a year for fraudulent Medicare billing from the tobacco fund, some Ventura County Supervisors have added slander to their offenses. Calling a distinguished head of a major hospital, Michael Bakst, an “evil person” and the equivalent of a “train robber” is unforgivable.
The amateur politicians’ handling of millions of dollars in this county is frightening. Where is the diplomacy, the courtesy, the dignity that professionals should give us? Not in Ventura County. My vote is for the people of Ventura County.
Yes on health care funds, no on supervisor bailouts.
