Sex Harassment
Re “Female General Accuses Peer of Sex Harassment,” March 31: Most women have experienced a good deal of sexual harassment by the time they reach the age of Lt. Gen. Claudia J. Kennedy. The harassment ranges from barely noticeable (perhaps because most of us develop thick skins about it) to quite outrageous.
I am willing to bet that all of the unnamed sources expressing amazement, surprise and the like are men--men who don’t get it.
Oh, and just for the record: I’ve been married for over 30 years to a wonderful man.

It seems to me that any woman who has achieved the exalted rank of general in the U.S. Army ought to have the gumption to ward off a little groping by a fellow officer. What kind of a fighting Army do we have, anyway? Can you imagine Gen. George Patton, faced with a similar situation (in reverse, of course), unable to muster the courage to say, “Get lost, sister, or you’ll have a knee in your groin”?
