Coach Is Arrested on Suspicion of Sex Act With Student
The girls basketball coach at Los Alamitos High School was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of performing an unlawful sex act with a 16-year-old girl, authorities said.
Los Alamitos police arrested Kevin Davis, 33, of Long Beach after a school employee reportedly saw him with the female student in a classroom after school Monday.
Engaging in a sex act with someone under 18 is a felony, said Capt. Todd Mattern, a spokesman for the Los Alamitos Police Department.
Davis, who teaches science at the high school, was taken to Orange County Jail, where he was being held Tuesday night on $50,000 bail. He has been the girls basketball coach at Los Alamitos for one season.
The name of the student was not released because of her age.
