BREA
The City Council was expected to approve a $26,000 plan at its meeting Tuesday to reconstruct the rose garden at City Hall park in honor of Frank Schweitzer Sr. and Frank Schweitzer Jr., two of Brea’s early councilmen.
The rose garden was listed as a routine item in the council’s consent agenda, a list of items the city manager, the mayor and mayor pro tem figure council members will approve without discussion. Don Schweitzer, grandson and son of the two men, designed a seven-sided perimeter for the rose garden, including brick paths, benches, a memorial plaque and new landscaping.
