DANA POINT
Residents in a neighborhood near Calle la Primavera are gathering signatures for a petition to stop a proposed expansion of St. Edward School and increased parking spaces at St. Edward Catholic Church.
George Munson, a resident on Old Bridge Road, said expansion will increase traffic and create more parking problems. The Rev. John Lenihan, a pastor at the church, said the school’s expansion is needed to accommodate an estimated enrollment growth of 216 students in the next six years, and additional stalls are needed in the parking lot to alleviate problems on neighborhood side streets.
