That Mark Martin Is One Controversial Fellow
When it was announced several years ago that the NBA stars would be playing on the Olympic basketball team, I patriotically cheered the news. Never mind that it really didn’t seem fair. The greatest athletes of the sport would kick butt against the rest of the world. It was for USA pride. I could live with that.
Now, a similar situation is occurring in the world of motorsports. Mark Martin, one of the elite of NASCAR racing, is competing in the Busch series. To date, he has entered five races this year, and won four. I’m sorry, but am I the only one who sees something wrong with that? What’s next, Shaq going back to high school ball? Tiger Woods playing the Buy.Com tour? NASCAR has to step in and put an end to this. Otherwise, I may be playing AYSO soccer next year.

My friends and family are personally offended by Shav Glick’s article in his March 31 column regarding Mark Martin. How dare you put the smart remark that Martin needs to “get a life” just because he is not interested in the NCAA finals? I don’t care either. Does that mean I don’t have a life as well? I think you need to get a life and let someone interested in NASCAR report it.
