The Greenhouses Aren’t That Old
It was great to see the article in the travel issue on the annual opening of the extraordinary Royal Greenhouses in Brussels, Belgium, and their amazingly beautiful floral displays (“Greenhouse Effect,” by Dale M. Brown, Side Trips, March 19). However, the greenhouses were not constructed in the 17th century, as the article says, but in the late 19th century.
