YORBA LINDA
A court ruling expected on a lawsuit challenging the city’s plans to widen Imperial Highway did not arrive by the end of the business day Monday.
Santa Ana Superior Court Judge Robert E. Thomas heard arguments on the case Friday and said he would return with a decision by Monday.
The lawsuit, filed last year by a group of residents, challenges the city’s environmental impact report for the project and asks the court to require the city to conduct additional studies before work can begin.
If the judge rules against the city in the case, the widening project from Esperanza Road to Yorba Linda Boulevard could be delayed a year, officials said.
