Crime Sweep in Santa Ana
Re “Scores Jailed in Huge Santa Ana Crime Sweep,” March 16: They descended like storm troopers. Santa Ana invaded by the police.
On the word of a criminal addict, the police, who solicited the informer, have caused great injustice to a minority.
This is sheer brutality and gross injustice. So the city is quiet now, they say.
After all that intimidation and fear, who would dare to speak out, no, shriek out, the anger and frustration of such great injustice?
The police have made sure these kids are branded forever, taken out of school, lose their jobs.
But they have a place for them, don’t they.
Fill the new prison industries with these youths. Give them inferior education, inferior lives, then stick them in prisons and build an industry around them. Remember the Rampart disgrace.
It could happen to Santa Ana.
