Lancaster, Santa Clarita to Vote for City Leaders
Voters in Lancaster and Santa Clarita will head to the polls today to elect city leaders.
Lancaster voters will elect a mayor and two City Council members, and Santa Clarita voters will decide which of 11 candidates will fill two vacant City Council seats.
Incumbent Frank Roberts, who is seeking his third term as Lancaster’s mayor, faces David Abber, a semiretired ticket broker.
Two incumbents, Jim Jeffra and Andy Visokey, are running unopposed for the Lancaster City Council.
In Santa Clarita, Councilwomen Jan Heidt and Jill Klajic decided not to seek reelection.
The 11 candidates hoping to fill their seats are: Eileen Connolly, Bob Heinisch, Bob Jonsen, Robert C. Kellar, Marsha McLean, Joe Nocella, Rein Schuerger, Michael Shanklin, Cameron Smyth, John Steffen and Diane Trautman.
