Carnival to Offer Child Fingerprinting
Free child-safety fingerprinting will be among numerous family activities at today’s Easter Carnival in Sunland Park.
The California Highway Patrol Explorer program, in conjunction with state Sen. Adam Schiff’s staff, will provide free fingerprinting from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the park, 8700 Foothill Blvd.
To date, about 2,500 children have been fingerprinted through the joint effort, organizerssaid.
“Having a child’s fingerprints on hand in the event of an emergency is a worthwhile precaution,” said Schiff (D-Burbank).
“I certainly hope that the fingerprint cards prove to be nothing more than a unique addition to a baby book or keepsake album.”
The community carnival, sponsored by the Sunland-Tujunga Chamber of Commerce, will feature rides, games, food and other activities.
