Gun Control
* After reading your April 15 article, “Cooley, Garcetti Clash in Hostile Radio Debate,” I became troubled by Steve Cooley’s position on gun control. Like NRA officials who when pressed avoid answering questions about trigger locks and gun show background checks, choosing instead to only emphasize the need to enforce existing laws, Cooley appears to be doing his own tap dance, stating that “there has to be effective, rigorous enforcement of those laws that are on the books.”
If this is his real position on gun control, he should run for district attorney in another county, for we need someone who not only wants to prosecute our gun laws, but who also believes in working with local, state and federal governments to come up with additional, tougher measures.
