Law Day Gives a Look Inside the System
Ventura County will celebrate Law Day on Monday to inform the public about how laws make democracy possible. This year’s theme is “Speak Up for Democracy and Diversity.”
Employees from the district attorney’s office, probation agency, public defender’s office and Sheriff’s Department will be available to answer questions.
The day’s events, open to area students, include a mock trial, shadowing a court employee and lunch with a judge. They will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hall of Justice in Ventura and the East County Courthouse in Simi Valley.
For more information, call Robert Sherman, deputy executive officer of the Superior Court, at 645-2964.
