Lutheran University Wins Education Grant

Cal Lutheran University has a received a grant from the University of California to host several programs and seminars to help instructors teach reading and literature. The California Reading and Literature Program, offered statewide, promotes developmental programs for college and K-12 teachers. CLU is the first private college in the state to receive such a grant.

Andy Fox Charitable Fund Awards Grants

The Andy Fox Charitable Community Fund awarded several grants in November. Many Mansions received two grants totaling $5,500. One of the grants, a $5,000 unrestricted payment, will help fund housing for the needy. A $500 grant was awarded to the group’s teen club, which will help clean up trash along Route 23 in Thousand Oaks. Cal Lutheran University received a grant to help fund its annual Mathews Leadership Forum. This year’s event will feature a seminar with Michael Josephson, founder of the Josephson Institute for Ethics.

Andy Fox is a graduate of CLU and a Thousand Oaks city councilman since 1994.
