Man Shot Near Staples Center Box Office Before Game
A 19-year-old man shot in front of the Staples Center box office Tuesday afternoon may have been trying to sell tickets to the Lakers-76ers game, police said.
The shooting at 1111 S. Figueroa St. was reported at 3:14 p.m., said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department. The victim, whose name was not released, was in serious but stable condition late Tuesday night with a wound in the torso.
Los Angeles police Officer Jason Lee said the man “may have possibly been a scalper.”
Police detained several people for questioning, Lee said, but no one had been arrested.
