SOUTHERN SECTION FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS
St. Bonaventure 34, Orange Lutheran 16--Lorenzo Booker rushed for 363 yards and five touchdowns at Ventura High as the top-seeded Seraphs (14-0) won their second consecutive Division XI title and 28th consecutive game.
Lutheran quarterback Jason Taylor’s two-yard touchdown run midway through the third quarter pulled the Lancers to within 21-16, but Booker scored on runs of three and 26 yards to put the game out of reach.
Third-seeded Lutheran (11-3), which had six passes intercepted, lost its third title game in eight years under Coach Jim Kunau.
