No. 4 Newport Harbor 6, No. 10 Esperanza 4--Esperanza led by one at halftime, but Newport Harbor came back to score five second-half goals for the victory. Jessica Ball and Jenna Booth had two goals each for the Sailors (2-1). Jessica Conner had three goals for Esperanza (5-3).
No. 7 Irvine 9, Fountain Valley 1--Nicole Lorrimer scored five goals, Sarah Hamilton added three and goalie Kim Johnson made 11 saves for host Irvine (6-1).
Canyon 8, No. 9 Edison 4--Cassie Zebisch scored three goals and Courtney Mathewson and Sheva Khalafbeigi each scored two goals for host Canyon (3-3), which led, 6-0, at halftime. Ali Malczynski scored two goals for Edison (4-2).
El Toro 10, Los Alamitos 3--El Toro’s defense had 17 steals and Ke’ala Carter scored four goals for the Chargers (5-1). Drue Wawrzynski had two goals for Los Alamitos (2-2).
Woodbridge 6, Mission Viejo 5--Sawako Sonoyama scored three goals and Jacquelyn Gauthier added two for visiting Woodbridge (5-2).
In nonleague boys’ soccer:
Fullerton 3, Anaheim 1--Joel Alexander scored twice and Victor Estrada once for Fullerton (2-3). Miguel Lemus scored Anaheim’s goal in the 27th minute.
In nonleague girls’ soccer:
No. 5 Woodbridge 1, No. 6 Santa Margarita 1--Woodbridge’s Christine Johnson scored in the first half but Lauren Winters tied the score off an assist by Jenny Anderson in the second half.
No. 9 Marina 5, Kennedy 1--Erin Droeger scored twice and Erin Yznaga once in a five-minute span early in the second half to give visiting Marina (4-0) a 4-1 lead. Regina Vinson scored in the first half for Kennedy (2-2-1).
