Disney to Open Africa-Themed Lodge
Reservations are being taken for Disney’s African-themed Animal Kingdom Lodge, a 1,293-room resort scheduled to open in April at Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Although a short drive away, it will be the Disney resort nearest the company’s 2-year-old Animal Kingdom theme park, said spokesman Rick Sylvain. In an unusual twist, the resort will have its own 33-acre grasslands area “filled with free-roaming animals” such as giraffes and zebras. Room rates range from $199 to $510. Tel.
