Search Continues for L.A. Fisherman
Authorities continued searching Saturday for a Los Angeles fisherman who disappeared around Point Mugu.
The Sheriff’s Department spent eight hours looking for Jin Hun Kim, 43, using helicopters and a dive team, Sgt. Rick Barber said.
“The helicopters help us see if something is floating. You never know where something will come up,” he said.
Barber said the divers searched around the rocks, in case Kim had fallen in, though no one is certain that happened.
Kim left to go fishing off the Point Mugu shore Thursday afternoon and when he didn’t return, his wife contacted authorities. His car was found in the area about 1 p.m. Saturday, the Sheriff’s Department said.
The search will continue today, Barber said.
