The City Council unanimously voted Monday night to renovate the city’s only baseball field.
City recreation officials had proposed moving the baseball field from TeWinkle Park to Lions Park to make room for more softball fields, but the council rejected that suggestion.
Designers will now explore how to best convert the TeWinkle Park field, which has the baseball diamond, two softball fields and a multiuse field, into three softball fields and a new baseball diamond.
