MISSION VIEJO
The Planning Commission will probably take a wait-and-see approach to the conflict between neighbors and Cox Communications Inc. over the use of a cable equipment building on Preciados Drive.
Clinton Sherrod, director of community development, recommends in his report that the commission continue to monitor the situation for another 90 days before taking any action to revoke the communication company’s permit for the site.
Residents of Preciados complained to the Planning Commission in October that Cox’s use of the facility was not in keeping with the company’s permit for an unmanned maintenance site and created a noise and traffic disturbance for the homes in the neighborhood.
The staff report states that though some progress has been made in reducing the number of trips, Cox needs more time to work with the neighbors addressing their concerns about noise from the generator at the site.
