Santa Ana’s Gray, Fray, Parker Are Honored
Santa Ana College dominated the Orange Empire Conference men’s and women’s basketball awards, announced Wednesday.
The Dons’ Greg Gray, a sophomore forward who averaged 20.3 points, and Zac Fray, a freshman forward who averaged 20 points, shared the men’s most valuable player award.
Santa Ana’s Ray Rodriguez, who guided the Dons to the conference title, was the men’s coach of the year.
Santa Ana’s Atari Parker, a sophomore guard who averaged 28 points, 11.2 rebounds, 6.2 assists, six steals and 2.6 blocked shots, was the women’s MVP.
Santa Ana won the first conference title in the history of the program and Jack Single was rewarded as the coach of the year.
