LAGUNA BEACH
A grease blockage in a sewer line near the Surf & Sand Hotel spilled waste water into the hotel’s underground parking lot early Monday morning, city officials said.
Four city workers assisted hotel employees with clearing the inch-deep water and debris, City Engineer Steve May said. The city-owned storm drain is on Bluebird Canyon and Coast Highway.
Workers used a pump to remove 50 gallons of water, making sure it did not spill onto the beach, said Lloy Thompson, senior sewer service supervisor.
