* LOYOLA MARYMOUNT (1-9) at NOTRE DAME (8-5), 1, KXLU-FM (88.9)--The losing streak has reached nine for the Lions, and the new year probably won’t bring any change. One more loss would establish a tie for the second-longest losing streak in one season. Against San Diego State Thursday, the Lions actually held a 10-1 lead before watching the Aztecs score the next 12 and take control of the game. On the bright side, the 70-63 loss at San Diego State was the lowest margin of defeat for Loyola Marymount against a Division I opponent this season. The Fighting Irish have won four in a row and five of their last six. Sophomore forward Troy Murphy leads the team in scoring (23.9 points a game) and rebounds (10.5 a game).
