Ice Dogs Fall, 4-3, in Shootout
Bob Nardella scored the game-winning goal for the Chicago Wolves in a shootout to beat the Ice Dogs, 4-3, in an International Hockey League game in front of an announced crowd of 3,534 Sunday night at Long Beach.
Chicago’s Brian Noonan scored at 6:26 of the third period to tie the score, 3-3.
In regulation, Long Beach outshot Chicago, 33-26, with Ice Dog rookie Dieter Kalt getting two goals and one assist and Pavel Rosa recording one goal and two assists. Rosa’s goal tied the score, 2-2, with 25 seconds left in the second period. Kalt’s second goal gave Long Beach a 3-2 edge 46 seconds into the third period.
