LAKE FOREST
The city will start taking bids on a project that would extend a storm drain along Alanwood Street to Aliso Creek.
State and local agencies have found high levels of pollution including bacteria and street runoff in Aliso Creek.
Runoff in the area naturally flows into the creek, so the pipe won’t add to pollution, city officials said.
The City Council set aside $865,000 last July to improve the drain near Interstate 5.
