Freeway Congestion
Re “Council Orders Prescription to Decongest the 101,” Jan. 8.
So, City Council member Laura Chick finally got sick of sitting in traffic on the 101, getting from her home to her downtown office. I wondered how long it would take someone to do something about the seventh-worst traffic bottleneck in the entire country. Now I know: when a politician gets sick of experiencing what all of the rest of us have to put up with, something gets done. Not before.
The only question is how many more politicians have to be inconvenienced before the talking ends and the construction improvements start. My guess is that they will all be termed out or have moved on to other seats before anything happens.
The net result will be no improvements.
