Tuomainen and Forsberg Resume Rivalry
When Marko Tuomainen took on Colorado’s Peter Forsberg in the first period Sunday, it was a reunion of sorts.
That’s probably why Forsberg was so angry.
“When you get slashed . . . and they don’t call it, it’s frustrating,” said Forsberg, who took two penalties, including a first-period roughing call that the Kings turned into a power-play goal and their first score in a 3-2 victory at Staples Center.
“That’s great, when he pays more attention to me than to his game,” Tuomainen said. “I was trying to get under his skin. . . . In the World Championships [while playing for Finland], our line didn’t give up a goal to his line [Sweden] in two games. It was the talk of Europe. We shut them out for 120 minutes.”
The Forsberg line also included Toronto’s Mats Sundin and Philadelphia’s Mikael Renberg.
In a rarity Sunday, Forsberg had two penalties and did not have a shot.

Pavel Rosa’s stay with the Kings lasted only three games before he was sent to Long Beach to make room for Jozef Stumpel and Glen Murray.
Rosa, who had no points in three games, was joined by Brad Chartrand, who was dispatched to Lowell of the American Hockey League.
Chartrand had 11 points in 40 games with the Kings, including five goals, one of them the team’s first short-handed score.
