KEY PLAY
ISAAC BRUCE TD
73-yard reception with 1:54 remaining
HOW IT STARTED
With 2:05 remaining in a 16-16 game, Titan defensive end Jevon Kearse crashed the line and got one hand on Kurt Warner, but the Ram quarterback muscled the ball down the right sideline.
WHAT HAPPENED NEXT
Noting the trajectory, Ram receiver Isaac Bruce (No. 80) slowed down and outjumped Titan cornerback Denard Walker (No. 25) for the ball, then made safety Anthony Dorsett (No. 33) miss. He was gone, on a 73-yard touchdown play.
THE SIGNIFICANCE
The touchdown, with 1:54 to play, gave St. Louis a 23-16 lead, which would be the final score of Super Bowl XXXIV.
IN THEIR OWN WORDS
Warner: “We had called a play earlier, and they came and told me Isaac could beat him [Walker]. So we needed a big play, and Isaac is our go-to guy.”
Bruce: “The guy covering me never saw the ball and he fell on his face. After I caught the ball, the safety overran me and then it was a race to the end zone.”
