City officials freed more money for street improvements to repair a water main along Rose Avenue.
The City Council recently approved an additional $258,913 to replace a portion of a 4-inch, cast-iron pipeline that ruptured just west of Orange Street a few weeks ago. The rupture caused extensive damage to the pipeline and asphalt along Rose Avenue, city officials said.
The city will replace a 1,057-foot section of the broken water main on Rose Avenue near Euclid Street with a new 6-inch ductile iron pipe.
