Bundling Agreement
Troubled Canadian software maker Corel Corp. said it will bundle its graphics software package with a new line of Hewlett-Packard scanners. Corel said in a prepared statement it will bundle the Corel Photo-Paint 8 for Power Macintosh computers and Corel Print Office 2000 with the Hewlett-Packard ScanJet 5370C scanner, products that target the small- and home-office market. In late June, Corel announced a bundling deal for its Print House 2000 software with H-P, the world’s No. 2 computer maker, However, analysts said at the time that the bundling deal will provide Corel with only minimal revenue. Corel is in the midst of a cash crunch as demand for its key products slides and sales from its new Linux software have yet to make any significant contributions.
