Truck Hits Power Pole, Causing Outage Downtown
LOS ANGELES — A large truck backed into a power pole Wednesday morning, knocking out power to part of downtown.
The truck hit a pole at Olympic Boulevard and Rio Vista Avenue, said Wendy Yancy of the Department of Water and Power.
The outage, which made traffic lights inoperative, affected “a large number of customers,” Yancy said. She said she did not know how many people or city blocks were affected. The outage began at 2:37 a.m. and all but 10 customers had power restored by 4 a.m.
