Media Ownership
* Re “FCC to Propose Easing Broadcast Ownership Rules,” May 31: The news presented to the public will be more and more tailored and less and less impartial if TV stations and newspapers are allowed to have joint ownership in a given locale. As it is, more radio talk shows are very one-sided and the news they present is also one-sided and leaves out issues they do not want aired.
The media are the dominant molders of public opinion now and should not be allowed to be concentrated into the hands of a few in the future. Is the Federal Communications Commission really interested in the public being well informed? I do not think so.
