Time: 10.76w. Became county’s dominant sprinter, winning at Orange County Championships and advancing to Masters with a fifth-place finish in Division I.

Time: 21.92. Nobody could catch this standout football running back in the one-turn sprint at the Orange County Championships. Also placed sixth in the Division I finals.

Trevor Jones
NEWPORT HARBOR 400 SR.
Time: 48.9. Ran his county-leading time in a Sea View League dual meet against Aliso Niguel, then defeated Irvine’s Mario Bassani in the league finals a week later.

Alonso Smith
TUSTIN 800 JR.
Time: 1:52.87. Ran a state-leading time at Surf City Invitational, then lowered it at the county championships. Added Division II and Masters victories, then finished seventh at state.

Ryan Bousquet
ESPERANZA 1,600 SR.
Time: 4:09.37. Ran a nation-leading time while finishing first at the Flojo Memorial Arcadia Invitational in April, then led Aztecs to county title with victories in both distance events.

Danny Mejia
KATELLA 3,200 SR.
Time: 9:13.66. Finished second at the county championships and Division II, then ran the county’s leading time while finishing third at Masters. Finished 18th at state finals.

NEWPORT HARBOR 110 HURDLES SR.
Time: 13.99. Narrowly missed a state title despite a bad start that left him at the rear of the field early on. Won Orange County and Masters titles and finished second in Division II finals.

NEWPORT HARBOR 300 HURDLES SR.
Time: 36.60. Ran fastest time in county history while winning state title. Had state’s top time since Pasadena Games in late March. Also took first at Division II finals and Masters.

SANTA MARGARITA
Time: 42.46: Scott Langford, Jr.; Phil Sardis, Sr.; Brad Slinkard, Jr.; Johnnie Walker, So. The fastest team when it counted most, equaling Tustin’s county-leading time while finishing third in Division III.

1,600 Relay
SANTA MARGARITA
Time: 3:17.46. Bob Braun, Jr.; Phil Sardis, Sr.; Adam Schmit, Sr.; Sean Zeitler, Jr.
One of the surprises of the season was this quartet, which managed to win a Division III title, finish fourth at Masters, then finish sixth at state finals.

SANTA MARGARITA HIGH JUMP SR.
Mark: 6-8. The jumper to beat from the start after clearing his season best in first week of season. Won county title, finished second in Division III and fourth at Masters.

CENTURY LONG JUMP SR.
Mark: 23-5 1/2. Finished first at county championships, qualified for Masters with a third-place finish in Division II, then advanced to state with a fifth-place finish at Masters.

Clarence Moore
CYPRESS TRIPLE JUMP SR.
Mark: 48-9 1/2w. Was another early state leader, but an abdominal pull sidelined him for a good part of the season. Won the Division II title, placed second at Masters and fourth at state.

Robby Hulliger
COSTA MESA SHOTPUT Sr.
Mark: 56-1 3/4. In a season of up-and-down performances, won at the county championships, then produced county’s second-best mark of season during fourth-place finish at Division III finals.

Travis Pendleton
ESPERANZA DISCUS SR.
Mark: 203-5. Capped career by setting state-meet record (203-5) and surpassing 200 feet for first time. Won third Division I title, along with Masters title.

Logan Odden
MARINA POLE VAULT SR.
Mark: 16-7. Broke 22-year county record at Mt. Carmel Invitational. Won Division I and Masters titles and took first at Penn Relays in Philadelphia and L.A. Invitational at Sports Arena.

NEWPORT HARBOR 100 SR.
Time: 10.87. Won Sea View and Division II titles and finished second at the county championships.

Time: 21.94. Finished second at the county championships and fourth in Division III with the county’s second-fastest time this season.

Time: 49.08. Finished second at the county championships and was runner-up in Division II with the county’s second-fastest time this season.

CAPISTRANO VALLEY 800 JR.
Time: 1:53.26. The surprise of the season after first running the event in April and then advancing to the state finals, where he placed fourth.

SAN CLEMENTE 1,600 SR.
Time: 4:15.67. Advanced to the state finals after running his personal best the day before in the preliminaries.

ESPERANZA 3,200 SR.
Time: 9:16.16. Might have been top runner in this event as well, but dropped it before Masters to concentrate on the 1,600.

KATELLA 110 HURDLES SR.
Time: 14.16. Highlight of his season was victory over Jones in the Division II finals. Finished second to Jones at the county championships and was sixth at Masters.

Time: 38.77. Followed Jones to the finish line at the county championships and owned the county’s second-fastest time this season.

Time: 42.46: Denny Casupanan, So.; Akeem Greenfield, Sr.; Branden Malcom, Sr.; Allen Shumate, Sr. Won Orange County title and had top time in county along with Santa Margarita.

Time: 3:20.26. Trevor Jones, Sr.; Daniel Moyer, Jr.; John Peschelt, Jr.; Richard Weber, Jr. Finished first at county championships and Division II finals.

Mark: 6-6. Finished first at Orange County Championships and Division II, placed seventh at Masters.

Mark: 22-5 1/4. Finished third at county championships and had second-best mark in county this season.

Mark: 44-7 1/4. Won title at Orange County Championships and was among county leaders in long jump and both hurdle events.

Mark: 171-7. Was among county’s leaders in both throwing events, despite not winning any major meets. Will play football at Yale this fall.

Mark: 15-8. Followed Odden all the way to state finals, where he placed sixth. Also won Orange County Championships and Division III titles.
