Members of the Placentia Heritage Committee decided Wednesday to uphold their decision to move the route of the traditional Heritage Parade to Tri-City Park in the north part of the city.

A group of more than two dozen residents, mostly Latinos from the south side of Placentia where the October parade has been held for 36 years, unleashed a barrage of criticism at the commission meeting lasting nearly two hours. Many said they believe the move was motivated by a north-versus-south mentality they feel is developing in the city.
